My Values

Awareness. I believe that love is always wins, but we can’t do it properly until we have the right frame of mind for our stories and how they intersect with others. Our purpose helps build the bridge between this world and the next.

Betterment. I believe that education, self-improvement, progress, is the lifeblood of awareness.

Common Grace. I believe that mystical secrets are common knowledge. Anyone can learn them, but without knowing who authored them, none of those secrets will be fully understood.

Discernment. I believe that a deep education brings wisdom. And what could be more important respected than that?

Energy. I believe that everything has potential and kinetic energy. From love to sin, it’s not a matter politics, but chemistry.

Futurism. To borrow from our Founding Fathers, I believe we are all endowed by our Creator to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. We are all stakeholders in our future, and we have the opportunity and duty to enhance it for the better.

God. I believe that questions and doubt are as valid as certainty that He exists; our doubt doesn’t deny His existence as the author of wisdom, Truth, and energy.

I never met someone who was doin’ better
I think they’re better at keepin’ it together

Your struggle and mine ain’t too different.
Yours looks easier from where I’m sittin’.
The scariest thing to be is yourself.
The hardest is to be the best version when the world’s trying to make you something else.
As a matter of fact, people have a mask of who they wanna be – taking it off in the right company.
And that’s the reveal, is it a trick or the treat: Halloween.
Resolving to get to a better state of being: New Year’s Eve.
We make it out to be who we want to be.
That’s something’ I don’t get, but I’m getting closer.
People looking for love and not the Creator.
We try to find order and purpose, but we can’t find the answer in a world that’s hurtin’ us.
We need to get off the border and look beyond us,
Like in the search for the maker in the great beyond of the universe and consciousness.
Ignorance is bliss.
What if the answer is beyond a religion and carries the name, Jesus?
We embrace who He is, but give him a new name and take away the face.
I wonder how He feels about this.
If we benefit from all He created, but we’re not giving worship, or praisin’,
Does He get jealous?
Maybe I’m being vague, so I’ll provide some clarity:
People know what love isn’t, but they don’t know what it is.
A process of elimination got us fumblin’ with it like kids.
But a few more steps and we tumble into limerence
From mess to reckless we mean everything to God.
The same God who lays a table before his enemies is the same who sets a feast for those who believe.
So here’s to those who profess, from second best to book of life, a masterpiece in disguise.
Let there be light was commanded by Christ,
By grace through faith, we are saved for all time.
Created for more, a potential fulfilled.
Finance that by your own account, if you will.
Can’t help but make a mess but need help cleanin’ it up.
You’ll burn out if you start, like a shooting star.
For the Father it’s never a burden.
So come as you are.

Statement of Faith

The following essential elements undergird my Christian faith. They provide a foundation for the theology, faith, that is manifested in Koshiz Music as an enterprise, and I subscribe to and believe in the following:

I believe the Bible to be the inspired and the only infallible, authoritative Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16).

I believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

I believe in:

  • The full deity and full humanity of Christ (John 1:1–14; Hebrews 1:3–5, 2:5–18),
  • His sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21; Hebrews 4:15),
  • His miracles (John 10:31–38),
  • His vicarious and atoning death through His shed blood (Matthew 26:28; 1 Peter 2:24),
  • His bodily resurrection (John 20:1–31; Acts 1:1–3; 1 Corinthians 15:1–8),
  • His ascension to the right Hand of the Father (Acts 1:4–11),
  • His present rule as Head of the Church (Ephesians 1:22, 5:23; Colossians 1:18), and
  • His personal return in power and glory (Revelation 19:11–16; 22:7–21).

I believe that regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for the salvation of all who are separated from God by sin and rebellion (John 14:15–21; Romans 8:1–11; 1 Corinthians 12:3).

I believe in the resurrection of both the saved and the lost: they that are lost unto damnation (Matthew 25:41–46), and they that are saved unto the resurrection of eternal life (Matthew 25:31–40; 1 Corinthians 15:42–57).

I believe in the spiritual unity of believers in our Lord Jesus Christ, with equality across races, genders, and classes (Colossians 3:11).

Progressive Christianity

While all scripture is good and useful for teaching (2 Timothy 3:16), there are a few particular verses that are especially critical to understanding the Koshiz Music mission.

I believe that the process of sanctification is equivalent to the the process of increasing in consciousness, defined as an increase in spiritual growth and self-realization. It is necessary to becoming a contributing, purposeful member of our local and global community (Matthew 22:37-39).

I believe that Christ-followers, after having learned and internalized the elemental truths of the Christian faith, have an obligation to know Christ more deeply and fully (Hebrews 6:1).

I believe that there is no substitution for gaining wisdom outside of knowing Christ. He, as God incarnate, is the author of Creation since the beginning of time. Natural laws exclaim the glory of God. His fingerprint can be found throughout history, in the natural laws of the universe, and scientific psychology.

While Christians have the power to speak things into existence (as well as the opposite), I do not believe in the power of Manifestation via the Word of Faith movement. Nothing, not even our own human desires, can override the Lord’s sovereignty. No act outside of knowing and believing in Jesus Christ is enough for salvation. Belief or faith in any deed or talisman other than Christ is idolatry.

Thus, my theology can be summarized:

“Jesus, and”
“Jesus, or”
“Therefore, Jesus”
